It’s almost time to say goodbye to 2006 and I could not be happier with how our community has embraced the new and improved Tinta Latina. It seems we build up more momentum with every issue, which tells me we are keeping our readership happy.

But, who is our readership? This important question at one point or another inevitably haunts every magazine regardless of its size. Now, Tinta Latina confidently stand here unafraid, haunted no more. We feel comfortable in asserting our readership. This year has helped us conclude that our readership is comprised from the community at large and is not narrowly tailored. From the office bees that look for a quick read at lunch to the cleaning crew who might pick up a copy left in the lobby. From the low stressed but highly indebted college student to the newly arrived immigrant. From grandma who doesn’t speak English to her grandson who has made it through medical school. From the curious tourist to the small business entrepreneur to family and friends of locals featured within the magazine. The truth is we get eyes from all realms of life; regardless of race, age or financial status.

This couldn’t make me prouder because it tells me that Tinta Latina is a platform where everybody can come together and drink from the same trough. Although Tinta Latina does focus on Hispanic figures and topics, our primary mission is to cultivate biculturalism in our city and I feel we are accomplishing that goal. I really hope all eyes enjoy our Holiday Issue; it’s my gift to you. Tinta Latina wishes you all much happiness this Holiday Season and good luck with your New Year’s Resolution, whatever it may be. Remember that action is what counts; action. See all of you next year where we will keep bringing you cool and exciting Issues.
